Chordless Trio w/Hutch
I'm going to focus on Blade and Hutch for most my listening for awhile.
Currently I'm checking out a few recordings I have of Hutch where he plays without a chordal instrument:
Joshua Redman - Compass
Stephen Riley - Inside Out

It sounds great! You guys have a great vibe and the band seems very comfortable with the material. And you sound great - particularly your comping.
duo with singers
I'm listening to the Bill Evans/Tony Bennett records and trying to pick up some ideas/concepts on how to play duo.
Just and I are gonna do some focused listening on "If You Could See Me Now" with Kenny Barron and Audrey Shakir. Then that's gonna be the first duo tune I tackle.
Oscar, any suggestions on other piano/singer duos? Thanks!

Hi Laura,
the Bill Evans / Tony Bennett album is my absolute favorite. Bill underplays on purpose and it's the best.
Check out an Abbey Lincoln/Hank Jones CD called When there is love. Awesome.
ALso there is a Pablo Record called Ella Fitgerald and Oscar Peterson.
then theres the Eric Reed / Wycliffe Gordon CD called We.
I'm sure there are more, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Like full duo cds.
Good Luck!
